FIRST AID KIT, GENERAL PURPOSE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in lieu of Federal Specifications GG-K-392 and GG-F-365.
This commercial item description covers first aid kits, complete with medical supplies, designed for the emergency treatment of minor injuries.
Salient characteristics:
The kits shall be of first quality commercial constriction and shall contain a balanced assortment of first quality first aid supplies. Each kit shall contain a list of kit contents. All first aid kits shall meet OSHA requirements.
The first aid kits shall be of the following types:
Type 1 Pocket size.
Type 2 To serve up to 25 persons
Type 3 To serve up to 50 persons
Type 4 To serve up to 100 persons
Type 5 For automobile use
Type 6 For bus or truck use
All the kits shall be so constructed as to be weather, rust and dust resistant.

Certification. The contractor shall certify the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Packaging, packing, and marking. The first aid kits shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed in fiberboard boxes that will assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be in accordance with the contract or order.
