INTERIM COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CASE, MEDICAL, SHIPPING AND STORAGE,
Polyethylene, Rigid
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Interim Commercial Item Description which was developed by the Defense Personnel Support Center, Directorate of Medical Material, DPSC-RST, 2800 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19101, based upon currently available technical information.
This interim commercial item description covers s waterproof, multi-use, reusable container suitable for use as a medical transit and storage use.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a medical transit and storage case suitable for protection of delicate and sensitive medical devices during transportation and extended storage.
The case shall be one of two sized constructed in accordance with DPSC drawing number 24539 dated 21 October 1986.
1. Case Size 1- Nominal inner dimensions shall be 30 inches (76.20 cm) long by 18 inches (45.70 cm) wide by 20 inches (50.80 cm) high.
2. Case Size 2- Nominal inner dimensions shall be 30 inches (76.20 cm) long by 18 inches (45.70 cm) wide by 13 inches (33.02 cm) high.
Each case shall consist of the following parts:
1. A removable lid which shall be interchangeable with either size case.
2. A base (bottom).
3. An adjustable aluminum frame, affixed to the interior of the case.
